The days are getting warmer and the sun stays up later into the evening. There's not much on TV this summer even though all the stations have "new summer shows". I think they all look pretty silly and not entertaining. Instead of sitting and watching mind numbing TV at home I'm planning to head out to Locos to participate in all the events they have going on during the week. Each store has a slightly different schedule, but you can find trivia, Texas Hold-em, live music, specials and much more going on almost every night of the week. I haven't been west of the Mississippi River in many years so I'm excited about making the trip out there. You can check-out the ground breaking on the St. Charles location page. It was a cold, harsh winter out there, but they persevered through it to get the new store built. St. Charles will be our newest franchise store and we hope that it will be the first of many Locos in the mid-west. Stay tuned over the next few weeks as we get closer to opening-up the store. Founded in 1980 by Gene Dixon, the Athens Twilight Criterium was the first nighttime race in the United States in over 60 years. What began as one race with 40 competitors has since grown to offer eight separate race classes and 150 cyclists competing in the main event, the men's criterium, a 60-km race around downtown Athens. What's exciting to me is that the Locos Cycling Team will be racing this weekend at Twilight and I hope we can count on your support to come out and cheer them on to victory. There are activities scheduled all weekend for the young and old alike so I hope to see you out there! I'm thinking about running errands Tuesday, playing a little tennis Wednesday (weather permitting of course) and then Thursday I'm heading to the Locos on Roswell Road for trivia and wings with Denzil, Zakk and Jane from Dave FM. Not too many people realize we have a Locos conveniently located on Roswell Road not far I-285 and Perimeter Mall. There will be a great crowd of people Thursday for trivia and I hope to see you there. Zakk and Jane will hang with us for Happy Hour from 5- 7 and then Denzil will crank-up the trivia and tunes around 8. I said I was thinking wings, but maybe a Redneck Deluxe is more up my alley. They've got a nice establishment over there on Newnan Station Drive near the movie theater and bowling alley. I really enjoyed having the opportunity to meet some local families during my visit. The team at Locos in Newnan have worked really hard over the last year to open the place up more to families. With the addition of kid favorite items like mini corn dogs and mac-n-cheese to the kids menu, Locos is a place both parents and kids agree upon! Not the mention that the kids menu is a bargain! $3.99 for their meal, a side and drink - parents can rejoice! Don't worry mom's - I know what you are thinking - there are a few healthier kids options as well! We encourage our store teams to be friendly and helpful - the Newnan team went above and beyond in every way to make sure I had an enjoyable experience. If you live the area and haven't been by to visit in a while or if you've never checked us out I highly recommend stopping by to meet Travis and his team.
