Daylight Savings

I want to remind everyone that daylight savings starts this weekend. With that comes longer days and hopefully a little sunshine. Which makes me think of our Sunshine Salad. A little ray of happiness with a citrus twist. This is the best time of year! With all the rain we've had it should be a very green spring and hopefully summer. So . . . change your clocks after you hang with us this weekend.

Winter Olympics

So I sat watching the Olympics last night and thought I wish I could be there. The beautiful northwest was calling my name. I guess watching it on TV with your favorite friends at your favorite local grill & pub is the next best thing.
I like to watch without the commentary because I swear the commentators mess up the athletes by jinxing them. They'll say, "She's had trouble with this landing all week," and low and behold she'll fall or "He'd better be careful not to take out his team mate," and he does. It takes the fun out of watching the competition when they make those calls.

Mainly I like the fact that so many countries get together and become one for a brief while. It is nice to know that we can still have international events such as this despite the trouble in parts of the world. Well, enough of my soap box. I'm ready to watch some more so come on down and hang with me.

Hunker Down for Old Man Winter

I realize that I am a Moose and my natural habitat is in a cold weather region, but after living in the south for so long my body isn't ready for this arctic air! I feel really bad for those up in S. Dakota with -20+ and those in the northeast and mid-west right now. Spring won't be able to get here soon enough. Despite the cold, it is the perfect time to have lunch or dinner at your Locos. Warm-up with some delicious Chunky Cheese Fries and one of our outstanding burgers. Add a Mt. Chocsuvious to the end and you'll be ready to go back out in the cold. 2010 will have a lot of great things to come like the NCAA National Championship Game on Thursday night, the professional championship game that I can't use the official name for and the long-awaited Ground Hog Day. Sounds weird considering we've had a drought the last few years, but as I sit here again looking at a swimming pool forming in the grass next to my window I'm getting a little water logged. A cold, damp, yucky day like this deserves a good meal to get the sunshine back. I'm dreaming of a Hot Italian (sandwich that is) with a side of fries. That could really fix up my rainy day blues.
