Two Decades of Locos Grill and Pub

Athens, GA – What started as Locos Deli and General Store in 1988 is now two decades later Locos Grill and Pub. In the early years, Locos served deli sandwiches and sold common sundries such as toilet paper and toothpaste. Throughout the years, Locos has grown into a highly successful franchise corporation with 25 locations in Georgia, Alabama and soon St. Charles, MO.
“It’s been an amazing run so far, “ said Jamey Loftin, founder and COO, “I can’t wait to see what the next 20 years will bring.” The iconic moose of Locos logo is still featured in all of the stores and advertising, and is readily recognized by both young and old.
In the early years, Locos menu was much smaller and limited to what have become signature sandwiches known throughout the southeast. Today there are over 60 items ranging from salads and wings, to burgers, fish and steaks. Locos menu offers new classics along with twists on traditional dishes and truly offers something for everyone.
“We’re proud of how our concept has grown through the years,” said Hughes Lowrance, founder and CEO. “When we began, we had no idea our little store would turn into a thriving business.”
Locos plans to celebrate their 20th anniversary with events throughout the year, several of which will be geared towards fundraising for local charitable organizations. “We’ve been so fortunate from the tremendous support of the communities in which Locos is a part of,” said Loftin, “and we want to take this year to give something back to members of our local communities.”
Locos Grill and Pub was founded in 1988 by Jamey Loftin and Hughes Lowrance in Athens, Georgia. The founders opened two more locations in the college town and became a very popular piece of the Athens culture. With the success of the Athens restaurants, Loftin and Lowrance, along with partners Bridger Loftin and Ben Rainey, decided to franchise the concept. Today, there are 25 locations across Georgia and Alabama.
