We are Locos

Locos is your local spot for food, fun, beverages, and all the sports you can handle. Catch the game or just hang out with friends and family at the moose. Locos serves sandwiches, wings, fresh burgers and fries, and delicious tacos in a laid-back, come as you are atmosphere. Locos has something for everyone. For over 30 years, we’ve been making good times great!

Locos opened shack on Oconee Street – Ronald Reagan was President.

Jamey begins a lifelong friendship with Derrick Floyd, the final four starting forward for UGA along with Dominique Wilkins- Floyd had just joined the Athens Boys and Girls Club and began a career that continues today of giving to this community by working to help young boys and Girls grow into incredible adults. This friendship leads to the partnership of Locos and The Boys and Girls Club that grows each year for 33 years and further.

Opened Harris St. where we sold our first chicken wing & first beer.

Introduced The Hooker sandwich.

Opened our Eastside location on Barnett Shoals Rd. – George H. W. Bush was President- Our good friends at Depalmas opened next door within a week of each other with incredible Italian food.

Braves – Marvin Freeman, Mark Lemke (Marvins Free Men)- Many loyal Locos customers created a Marvin Freeman fan club called Marvin’s Free Men. Marvin came Athens with Lemke and played pool and ate before a Georgia basketball game.

Introduced the Vegetarian section of our menu.

Founders Jamey and Bridger Loftin rode over Athens in the Budweiser Zeppelin launching from Ben Epps airport.

Braves beat the Indians to win World Series.

First Annual Charity Golf Tournament.

Summer Olympics hosted in Georgia- Locos took a busload of customers to the first Braves game in the Olympic Stadium.

Summer Olympics hosted in Georgia- Local artist creates a 10 foot tall Moose with a chainsaw from a huge Oak Tree. The Moose stood upright holding a fully functioning Olympic torch.

Locos rented a bus and went to the first Braves game at Turner Field on April 4, 1997. They watched the Atlanta Braves defeat the Chicago Cubs.

Hudson Wilson opened first franchise in Gainesville, GA and is wildly successful to this day.

Introduced the Gobbler sandwich.

Locos hosts the Homecoming Queen competition with 500 dollars going to winner Erin.
